What is a synchronised generator system? Bundu Power supplies and maintains industrial paralleling plants where 2 to 32 diesel generators run together on a shared bus, typically from 350 kVA per unit upward. Every system we synchronise uses DeepSea DSE8610, DSE8620 or DSE8660 MKII controllers depending on whether the site needs gen-to-gen load sharing, single-set mains synchronisation, or utility transfer control.

Bundu Power has more than 20 years of experience supplying and maintaining diesel generators across South Africa. We supply and maintain synchronised generator systems regularly — from two-set redundancy plants to large multi-megawatt sites — and operate synchronised sets in our own rental fleet, so our equipment and service model is proven in the field.
We specify DeepSea load-sharing controllers exclusively for synchronising work: the DSE8610 MKII for multi-generator paralleling, the DSE8620 MKII where a single set must synchronise with mains (and can later be reconfigured for multi-set duty), and the DSE8660 MKII to manage transfer between the generator bus and the utility supply.

When Paralleling Makes Sense — and When It Does Not
Best suited when
- Individual generator size is 350 kVA or larger
- Site load is variable and modular capacity is valuable
- Redundancy during servicing is a operational requirement
- Multiple smaller sets are easier to site than one very large unit
Limitations to plan for
- Higher upfront cost than a single standalone set (controllers, switchgear, specialist sync equipment)
- Load must be balanced across running units — poor load sharing increases wear
- Protection and load-sharing configuration require experienced paralleling engineers on site
- Not cost-effective below roughly 350 kVA per unit for most applications
